Waikiki Vacation Condo in Hawaii

Details about renting the condo

Price
Here is the price list for the hotel room: $150 USD per night. Please note that a 13.962% Hawaii tax (excise tax and hotel room tax) will be added to the total room cost. There is a one-time $50 USD cleaning fee if you reserve for fewer than 7 nights (waived for 7 nights or more).

Deposit
When you reserve the room you will see the total cost (including tax and cleaning fee) automatically calculated. To secure your reservation, a 25% deposit of that total price and a refundable Security Deposit of $150 USD are required on a credit card. I hope that you sincerely plan to stay at my property on the days that you have reserved. However, I know that plans can change. If you cancel, the $150 USD security deposit is completely refunded. However, note that the booking deposit refund is contingent on the proximity of your arrival date. If you cancel 30 days or more before your arrival, the full deposit will be refunded minus a $50 USD booking fee. If canceling 29 days to 14 days prior to arrival, then half of your booking deposit will be refunded. If you cancel 13 days or fewer prior to arrival you will not receive a refund. If I can rent out the room if you have cancelled in those 30 days prior to arrival, I will refund your full deposit minus the $50 USD booking fee.

The Security Deposit is refunded within 10 days after your departure if the room is left in essentially the same condition as when you checked in if there has been no major damage. I am not worried about the accidentally broken dish or the normal wear and tear of the furniture and appliances. This security deposit is for some protection for me against clearly careless or willful destruction of property.

Basic rules of occupancy

Check-in is 3 p.m. or later
Check-out is 12 noon

The address is 2427 Kuhio Ave. in Waikiki. The Building is a hotel called ResortQuest Pacific Monarch. The flat is on the 20th floor in the southeast corner with direct views of the ocean. See GOOGLE MAPS for a sky view and directions to the Waikiki Condo Flat.

When you arrive at the Pacific Monarch Hotel someone will meet you in the lobby to give you the keys to the room and answer any questions. Full payment of the balance by credit card must be made 2 weeks prior to arrival. (I will send you an email reminder.) When you leave, just leave the keys and card keys inside the room when you exit. Someone will be available by cell phone or pager for any questions or problems during your stay. But, please don't expect front-desk type service for this self-sufficient condo.

This is absolutely a non-smoking room. If you haven't kicked the habit, I suppose you can smoke on the balcony. However, there are strict laws in Hawaii about flicking cigarette ashes off the balcony.

There's a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a hidebed in the living room. I think the property is really only comfortable for a maximum of three adults. There must be at least one adult 21 years or over registered for the room. Accompanied children are welcome. Please, please educate them about the safety of being on a balcony on the 20th floor. Also, the windows in the living room facing the ocean should be kept closed if children are present. They are too heavy for a child to open but if they were left open there is a real danger if a child climbed up onto them because of the sheer drop off.

There is parking at the Pacific Monarch Hotel. However, everyone must pay the daily fee of $12 to use it. This applies to all guests of the hotel and is paid in the garage. On-street parking in Waikiki is impossible. I do recommend you visit other parts of the island. You probably don't need to rent a car for every day of your visit to Hawaii. Getting around Waikiki is easy on foot or bus.

One final word

I sincerely hope that you enjoy your visit to Hawaii. It is a beautiful and special place. I think if you stay at my condo, you will have a memorable vacation. If you are expecting luxury accommodations with five-star hotel amenities, please book at those resorts. If you want really good value for your money and a guaranteed great view and convenient location, I think you'll find my flat quite suitable. It is the only vacation property that I own. I'm not in the business of condo rentals. My family visits each year and I wanted a nice place for them to stay. To help cover the costs I rent it out for the rest of the year. I hope that you treat it as you would a friend's place. I also hope that you'll want to be my guest again in the future.
